CICHLIDAE
Can be found in black, acid and soft waters as well as hard and alkaline waters.
It is generally a territorial species; some may live in a territory permanently or by period are completely in group. Usually males of the same species do not get along.

CORYDORAS
It can be found in a wide variety of habitats, from rivers and lakes to swamps and estuaries.
They are very resistant: they survive in waters with little oxygen in times of drought, since they directly breathe atmospheric air, and can even crawl on land, if necessary.

PLECOSTOMUS
Found in rivers along Latin America from Costa Rica to Argentina.
It is omnivorous and nocturnal, remains hidden during the day and at night it comes out to eat. Relatively calm, although can be territorial with others.

CHARACIDAE
Family of subtropical and tropical freshwater fish, although most inhabit rivers, some varieties can be found in caves.
Although they have several different sizes, none manages to exceed 3 cm in length, even the smallest of the species only reaches 1.3 cm.

AROWANA
Fish with large scales, long body, and sharp tail.
It usually swims near the surface of the water waiting for its potential prey, it jumps out of the water and captures its prey. Silver arowana prefer soft water with a pH between 6.0 and neutral. Some aquarists often call it 'Dragon Fish' for its shiny, armor-like scales.

PIMELODIDAE
This family is in constant study there are more than 120 variations, but only about 30 are classified.
It can grow a lot, even some species can reach 3 meters in length. They have no scales and by their maxillary beards that can measure as much as their body.
